Word of the Week: Modest

Let's get one thing clear: Modesty does not mean that you are dressing like a nun or wearing turtle necks and long skirts to cover every inch of your body. When you are modest, you are showing people that you respect your body, which is a gift from God.

Modesty may seem like an old-fashioned idea, but it is a blessing of protection. When you dress modestly, you capture the right kind of guy's eye and avoid the creepers out there.

But modesty doesn't just deal with clothing. You can be modest in language, which means you are honest and kind and positive. You can be modest in your lifestyle, not boasting about that new car you just bought or the new fancy smart phone you now own. You can be modest in spirit, being humble and patient and loving of your fellow man.

Modest is a way to be, not just a way to dress. Be modest in the things you do this week, and remember that modest is the hottest way to be.
